Charges
Open Door offers our facilities at cost price – that is, to cover cleaning, administration, heating, lighting and water, and wear and tear. The costs are fixed annually by the Management Team, which is made up of people from St Mary's church and representatives from regular users of our building.
The main body of the church (right) is a wide, fluid space. The acoustics are excellent and there is a good sound system. The building comfortably holds 350-400 seated. It is excellent for concerts, exhibitions, fund-raising events, lectures and meetings that require group work as well as plenary sessions. Access is by either the north side, from the rear car park, or from the south, on the main road. There is disabled and other parking at the front, and parking at the back, with access off The Avenue. There is room for some 24 cars parked easily and more if no one's in a hurry to get away.
Charges for the Main Body of the Building – charitable fundraising and schools – no charge; non-profit organisations - £7.50 per hour
The West Room (left) comfortaby accomodates 15-20 people with flexible seating. It connects visibly with the main body of the church through a glass wall, but can be to some extent aurally isolated. The room is equipped with a computer socket, its own sound system and a digital audio-visual system using a smartboard.
Charges for the West Room – charitable fundraising and schools – no charge; non-profit organisations - £6 per hour
The McDonald Room (right) can accommodate over 20 people. It has its own sink and tea-making facilities. Access from outside is from the rear car park (reached from The Avenue). The lavatories are accessible from a door connecting the room with the main body of the church.
